The way to boost confidence is not just by reading every self-confidence book there is going.  The foundation to boosting confidence is laid by enriching the person you are,  first from the inside. We do this by first eliminating the stress  we feel about not being confident in the first place. You see, if you’re not actively looking to boost confidence, but are concentrating on self-fulfilment instead, this makes you happy with yourself, so you ‘seem’ confident.

Remember that self-confidence doesn’t come from the outside.  It’s the way you react to external situation which causes the let-down you feel about yourself.  Confident people are those who stay upbeat even in rough times, and positive in times of distress.  If good times categorically brought elation – and hard times desperation, then we would all be a bunch of depressed people.

Confident honk is a bizarre name for a blog post. But hey, stick with me and I’ll show you why I’ve chosen this nameHave you ever noticed how bigger cars have more aggressive sounding honks? Some car horns sound out a confident honk saying, ‘Hey, I’m right behind you. Or, ‘Hi, did you know the traffic lights just turned green?’ Others (usually larger cars) have honks that say, ‘You fool, can’t you see I’m here?’ Get out of my way right now!’ Smaller cars have honks that say, ‘ I hope you’ve seen me.’ Or, ‘I hate to jump in right when you’re examining your teeth, but the lights just turned green and I’m in a bit of a hurry.’

We don’t live in the world on our own. People are always watching you – paying attention to what you do, how you behave and what you say. Whatever you say or do impacts some one or some place, either positively or negatively – which one is your choice. Sometimes we can affect the rest of someone’s life simply by something we did or said to them. What’s your impact going to be? What lasting effect will you leave?

Have you worked so hard at  achieving something only to end up with nothing show for it in the end? Have you considered there are more ways than one to achieve your goal? Confidence is a shy companion. No matter how much confidence you build up he can seep gradually into the background if you keep getting knock-backs in your life.  A person bubbling over with confidence can be a dribbling wreck – a shell of a person if everything they tried their hands on in one year has gone to mush. Like we said, confidence is a shy creature.

There are more ways than one

even in a maze, there are more ways than one to get to the goal

I live on a busy street in a small village. About 5 minutes away from us, there’s a huge housing estate and everyone who lives there has to travel on my road to get to the city centre for work during the morning rush hour. In addition, I live a stone’s throw away from a large secondary school. Each morning the traffic outside our house is manic as parents try to drop off their kids to school, driving slowly so as not to hit any of the hundreds of kids who amble on the pavement (side walk) on their way to school. The only thing that makes the morning rush bearable is the beautiful line of large trees which stand on the side of the road opposite our house.

I love reading  building confidence quotes. Sometimes, without saying much, it’s these confidence quotes that have a deeper impact when you feel a bit low on esteem. I’ve looked around and have collected some confidence quotes  from well-known people and their not so well-known counterparts. I thought that a spoonful of these will whisk us into action. Please let me know in the comment boxes which ones have impacted on you the most.

How to build confidence in your kids today will briefly discuss a couple of things you can do today to help them grow confident and self-assured. Not many parents have a lot of time on their hands, but the thing about being a parent is that you’re obliged to make time for the kids you’ve been given charge of. You desperately wanted them. You love them and made a fuss of them when they were babies – and when they were little. Now they’re getting up and getting themselves dressed. You’re rushing out to work and hardly even looked at what they were wearing today. Why the rush?

Why are you rushing out without seeing them? You’re going to work to put food on the table and a home above their heads – that’s right. You’re rushing around to make their lives more comfortable. Please stop and think for a moment about how you can make their lives more fulfilling.
