Celebs With Body Confidence will show you the celebrities who are confident in their own skins. These celebrities will surprise you because they’re not the stick-thin ones most teenagers aspire to be like. They’re real women with real bodies. This just goes to show that body confidence has nothing to do with being thin. Body confidence is accepting who you are and what you look like. If you’d like some tips on building body confidence, go to the linked page.

According to Cosmopolitan, ‘The average American woman is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds, while the average American model is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 117 pounds — making her thinner than 98 percent of American women. So mathematically, it would be pointless to judge your body in terms of someone you have only a 2 percent genetic possibility of looking like.’ I think that this data is representative of most countries. Women in the UK certainly fit into this category. The topic of body confidence is well-debated internationally.

Celebs with body confidence

Cosmopolitan’s top body-confident celebs are:

Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, and Kylie Minogue. One thing that’s instantly noticeable about these three women is that they’re all curvy individuals. They’re never seen in the media looking malnourished and drawn. Yet, do you see the way in which they present themselves and their fabulous bodies with confidence? They love who they are (although Kylie has reportedly had botox in her forehead) and are happy with what they’ve been given. They could easily have held themselves and careers back by deciding their bums were too big or their legs weren’t skinny enough. This would’ve been devastating.

Top body confidence tips from real people

‘Instead of pointing out what you don’t like in the mirror, point out what you do like.’ I should think that the star of Ugly Betty, in all her successes, has always been able to point out her best qualities, or she would not have been able to pull off such a frumpy role wearing a crazy wig, bushy eyebrows, terrible clothes and blue braces. She’s a stunning woman and a talented actress. She knows this and confidently expresses it, even under all her ugly character’s garb. As a matter of fact, the confidence shines through even for her character, Betty. See what body confidence can do for you! What is confidence if this isn’t it!

We’re really seeing some broad cultural changes as the entire idea of “body image” is changing to reflect the tastes of the masses.

Mark my word, it shan’t be too long before we have made it full circle back to the “Venus de milo ” standard of beauty which celebrates real women, not skeletons.

    • Anne says:

Dave, I think in some ways we’re already there. Most of us know that a real woman’s figure is what we should strive for. We realise that the images in the magazines are all photoshopped (even the celebrities themselves WISHED they looked like the image they appear to be).

I think that we have to convince the youngsters about this, but we mostly know.

I usually don’t follow celebs way of living, but in this instance i think Stallone would make a good example, or Jackie Chan.

You talk about how some of these are “real” people but let’s face it, when you’re put on a pedestal like these celebrities are, it’s easy to be consumed by confidence. That translates to an inner glow that makes anyone look like a million bucks. 🙂 Still, I enjoyed the read. Thanks.

    • Anne says:

I agree, Jason. However, in our world where people worship ‘thin celebrities’ you have to give these women credit for not wanting to conform – even though they’re in the spot light all the time. They don’t give in to the stereotypical ‘celebrity’ look and this must take a lot of strength to do.

  4. Jason Ellis says:

Fair enough – although I do think more curvy celebs are favored with the public (in the last 5 years particularly) – Beyonce, Adele, Kim Kardashian etc. In no way am I trying to say that they’re overweight. I’m just saying – I think the stick figure trend is going by the wayside.

There are only a few people who have selfconfidence and don’t care about other people’s opinion. Such free people are truly happy. The rest are trying their whole life to fit in the majority and look like other people.

  6. Audi TT Miami says:

I think it’s great that not all celebrities conform. It can be good for people who aren’t as skinny as most. Lets them know they are not alone.

  7. I think the same way as you think. the body language is some time speaks much stronger than the other language. it tells the people the confidence level the person have.

The image of America Ferrera is broken, I think.
Regarding to the post, I saw in some discovery channel documentary that these people have behavioural counsellors who train them on how to behave in front of the paparazzi and media reporters. They must not have any problems regarding any kind of confidence. That is just my thought, correct me if I am wrong.

  9. Tulisaa says:

I don’t see why it should be such an issue for celebrities to maintain such an optimal look. I mean they are just human just like everyone else and so they should be able to be whoever they wish!

I think it’s great that some celebrities are still confident with how they look instead of trying to fit that hollywood image I would say.

Everyone should have confidence no matter what they look like or others say

  12. Movers in houston says:

Good forthem but what is the price they pay? i dont thing that having this kind of bodies and giving up food is worth it.

  13. Andrew from Bodybuilding says:

Very interesting article. It’s interesting how celebrities pay a lot of money to maintain their appearance. Celebrities have such a high following that perhaps their weight loss ‘fat diets’ have a negative impact. Afterall, celebrities are supposed to be role models. Excuse the pun, but is it ‘healthy’ to be obsessed with weight loss and appearance when you have a vast number of followers? I don’t think so.

“I have curves and that skinny girl doesn’t”. and this is coming from a girl who claims to have gotten made fun of for being so thin and “curveless” in high school. she is trying to appeal to fat girls in a very bad way. that is nasty, and she’s hypocritical. also, curves are NOT FAT! All people have curves- they go in and out. they are not rolls, big boobs, big hips, a wide butt, a gut, etc. they are concave and convex surfaces. so really, skinny girls are usually curvier as they lack fat to hide the curves.

but anyway… that is not “body peace” that is body cattiness, putting down someone else to make yourself feel better… and it’s not even correct! anyone who says they have curves just because they’re overweight or have DD cups or whatever is not curvy, they’re lying to themselves. she should know better.

Its not a secret that we have to love ourselves at first, all our figure and little defects that make us unique. Yep, the industry of wellness provide us slim perfect human which is too far from reality. The way out is maybe write in the corner of picture that is created with photoshop or smth else… I understand that its will not solve the problem but its step forward…

  17. I think celebrity branding works so well because of the confidence they bring to the table. A lesson for all of us to learn from.
